Appointed QSL Manager for the VK0EK Project.

VK0EK

I am very proud to announce that I have been appointed QSL manager for the forthcoming VK0EK DXpedition to Heard Island this year. Here is the announcent in full by the VK0EK Team:

“Jan. 6, 2016. We are pleased to announce that Tim Beaumont, MØURX, will provide the QSL manager service for VKØEK, with cards printed by Max, ON5UR. DXA will be the DXers primary interface with the expedition, and DXers will be able to request their QSLs via the DXA and VKØEK web pages, with QSL requests fulfilled by Tim and Max’s United Radio QSL Management Bureau. Online requests for direct cards are preferred, although direct paper QSLs via MØURX will also be accepted. Bureau requests will also be made via DXA/VKØEK. To provide efficient service and to reduce workload on the bureau system, all bureau requests should be made on-line.”

TX3X QSL’s Start To Arrive

M5JON

t always gives me great pleasure to receive images of the QSL cards arriving at their destination, especially if the QSL is an ATNO for the DX’er. The images also give me information about how the mailing has gone and how long it takes for the letters to arrive around the world.

I first received an email from G3UML, Laurie in London that the QSL arrived just 24 hours after it was posted, At the same time M5JON John sent me the photo (below left) with the QSL in his shack.Further tweets from EI9KC & DL2AJB also indicate the QSL has arrived.

Just one day later i saw several Twitter messages from France, F8DZY sent the image (below middle) of the QSL. Also several messages from Germany saying that the QSL had arrived.

TX3X QSL Mailing

TX3X1

Whilst most people were stuffing the Christmas turkey over the last few days, I was stuffing the TX3X QSL cards into envelopes for the big mailing.

As Global Mailing Consultant to the TX3X Team, it was my job to ensure that the QSL card was designed by ON5UR Max Rymenant (Maxi-Print) to the specification requested by the team, and also process the OQRS requests and complete the QSL mailing in a timely manner.

As a result, packages to our sponsors DDXG, GDXF, MDXC & SWDXF, along with 2,749 letters to the deserving will be posted by business mail class on Tuesday 29th December and should reach you very soon.

Thank you to the TX3X Team for trusting me with this important job!

From VE2TKH

QSL-VE2CSI
It’s been five years now that I moved to Sept-Iles in CQ Zone 2 and try to work as many as possible to give them the chance to have CQ Zone 2 in their logs, many of you were in my logs and I thank you for that. But the most important thing, is the QSL manager. And mine is Tim Beaumont, M0URX who deserve a big thank you and our congratulations for a great service he provided. Tim, sincerely THANK YOU for what you’ve done. And you Tim and fellow DXers who read, I wish you a Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings. Now, we are reaching zone 5 in Montreal to study in security. So, no more VE2CSI for myself but fellow DXers wait until the station is rent for different contests. Good luck and thank you for great memories from zone 2.

Helping with the bureau load!

B2
We are under increasing pressure to reduce the cost burden to both our own bureau, and the IARU bureaus in processing tens of thousands of bureau requests each year. So to help in this matter we will be sending the following email to all “Multi Bureau QSL requests” to ask the claiment for a donation towards costs. In return the QSL cards will be sent directly and delivered to you at the earliest opportuninity and lightening the load for the bureau system.
Thank you for your understanding!

“Thank you for the multiple “Bureau” QSL OQRS request received. Due to an ever increasing bureau workload I would like to ask you to consider a small donation, and these QSL cards will be posted to you DIRECT.
£3 GBP up to 4 QSL cards
£5 GBP up to 10 QSL cards
Payable via PayPal to [email protected]

The financial burden from bureau requests to both the QSL manager and the IARU bureau is an ever increasing problem. In order to keep these financial costs to a lower level we are now asking multiple QSL requests to consider paying a small fee.
In return instead of receiving those QSL cards in maybe one year through your bureau, we will mail out the QSL cards to you by direct post as soon as possible.
Thank you for considering our request.”
